President Donald Trump may have endorsed Mitt Romney, but Romney isn’t offering any thanks.
Romney gave an odd accounting of his relationship with Trump during an interview with Jake Tapper. While Romney stated that he regretted accepting the presidents endorsement, he also proposed that few would decline the offer.
“I will let the people make the assessment of which things were mistakes and not,” said Romney. “But when the president of the United States, frankly of either party, were to say ‘I’m endorsing your candidacy,’ I think you’d say ‘Thank you very much.’”
This follows a scathing op-ed Romney has released on Trump, which many consider to be dishonest political tactics.
Yet Romney hasn’t budged on his stance stating, “He was endorsing me, I wasn’t endorsing him,” Romney said. “And I haven’t decided who I’m going to endorse in 2020. I’m going to wait and see what the alternatives are.
Is sure seems like Romney is taking advantage of President Trump and his Republican ties.
