Recently on “CNN Newsroom,” Aaron David Miller, the CNN specialist in global affairs, said that it would be in President Trump’s best interest to lift the strict travel ban applied that is currently applied to Iran. He argued that doing so would send a global message that the United States doors are open to those who are fleeing from the rampant protests.
Later, anchor Brianna Keilar asked Miller if he could really see President Trump making a move like that against his own plans.
Miller responded, “I can’t, but I mean, it would be to his credit, in order to send an unmistakable message that America’s door is open in the face of what’s happening in Iran, or to work on and with social media companies to ensure that social media, Instagram, Twitter, and the telegram — and the app Telegram remain open. 48 million Iranians now have cell phones. In 2009, only a million did.”
